Bento 160 Wishing on a star

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 11:32 AM
Hello...how are you...?

Aware that Christmas is coming, I already excited about it and do not yet have any idea for Christmas bento. However, continuing from last bento, I wish to have just a little bit touch of the holiday spirit ...

wishing on a star
The idea for the first-tier box, was to have a bear tip-toeing thru the window to watch a falling star. Apparently, I missed the ears and feet, thus make him more like a flying alien than a chubby bear. LOL
The "bear" was made from punched-out hard-boiled egg-white which soaked in sweet soy sauce to get the brown color (I love the soft tone, by the way). The window and star were made from kani.

It is kids' first time to have black rice in a bento. I just hope they like it.

balance diet
Inside the second tier box: stir-fried chicken cubes with minced-onions, heart boiled-cocktail sausage, steamed shitake mushroom, boiled halved-chikuwa underneath of steamed broccoli, boiled seaweed meatball underneath of flowered carrot. Also strawberry, lemon wedge, flowered purple sweet potato and some edamame by foodpick inside a mini pink pail. I avoid deep-fried dish since lately they are having mild sore-throat.

Just learned to carve carrot from Megan. She has a beautiful bento blog. Thank you for the tutorial :)

adorable Kokeshi
I made three sets, exactly like this, each for mister J, miss L and mister B. All of them in Kokeshi lunch box. Just so adorable!

Happy lunch... \^.^/
