Our quick getaway

Sempet kepikiran keluar kota, anyway, langsung kepikiran macetnya.

foot-fie dulu sebelum berangkat

sarapan dulu....

Selalu ada waktu untuk pose-pose

amazed with baby Christoff. Mukanya dari tadi tanpa ekspresi .. LOL

Papa mama bawa tas lumayan gede. Di pulau, baru kita tau, tas gedenya berisi lauk matang, sambel goreng kentang, tempe bacem, asinan bangkuang...lengkap dengan ulekan sambel pake bawang merah iris. Even kecap manisnya pun dibawa di kotak kecil. Haaa..sempat2nya masak komplit gitu. Kita jadi makan enak *kaga jadi makan alakadarnya* Padahal menu dari paket, lumayan enak. Ada menu ayam goreng tahu tempe buah melon untuk lunch, Dinner dapet cumi goreng tepung, tempe ikan teri plus sayur sop buah semangka. Breakfast dapet nasi uduk, telur balado.

siap-siap naik speedboat... *don't mind his bete face*

mari merapat

ada yang ngantuk, bangun kepagian

rame juga ternyata ya...
Langsung ke pantai...
Main pasir...wohooo...

 we officially in here!

baby C saking serunya, beberapa kali ke-makan pasir..>,<!

love the pic

okeee..daku narsis dulu

sunset

sunset

 Setelah makan siang, kita snorkeling

mulai laper, nunggu dinner...
sementara kita tetep aja foto2 dulu
Daku dah teler deh, ga ikutan BBQ. Bobo aja.
Mulanya sih seneng, sampai kita ngeh kalau remote AC nya rusak. AC nya ga bisa dikecilin, sampai semua orang mengigil kedinginan. Dah pake handuk dan seprai (pinjem dari mama!) buat selimut, tetap aja ga nolong. Kejadian aneh bin ajaib, di pulau malah kedinginan.
Menjelang subuh, somehow someway, remote AC bisa dipakai untuk matiin AC nya (mungkin sebelumnya habis kali batterai nya ya...) baru kita nyambung tidur lageee...

sunrise

my folks
Setelah makan pagi, seharusnya kita dijemput pulang jam 2 pm. Namun karena ombak tinggi, tour guide saranin check out jam 10 pagi. Makin siang, ombak makin tinggi.
Pulang lah kita jam 10am. Jatah makan siang tahu tempe ayam goreng sayur lodeh jadi nasi kotak :b

Masih belum puas main pasir, hm...?

See you in next vacation!  XOXO

So Very Late...

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 9:38 PM 2 comments Links to this post

Hi everyone

It is such a very latepost from Easter bento and my dad’s birthday’s bento.

The Easter bento consists of all simple things. Even the idea came up at the very last minute.

What’s inside

·        Steamed white rice

·        Fried chicken with Indonesian yellow spices

·        Potato salad

·        Green beans

·        Quail eggs

·        Edamame

·        Fish nuggets in shape of yellow and red Angry Birds

·        Papaya

·        Watermelon

Such a yummy lunch and the kids finished it without hesitate :-D

Now lets move on to my dad’s birthday bento.

Frankly speaking, making an adult bento is more challenging –for me- than a kids or charaben bento. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I am not so often in making it. Perhaps also my genuine purpose in bento-making is to provide healthy and nice-looking lunches for my kids. However, I do believe that slowly I shall make more of non-charaben than charaben bento. When the kids are growing up, I’d love to still offer them healthy although not-so-adorably-looking lunches {^,^}

Inside the box

·        White steamed rice

·        Nori and kani on top of rice

·        Mini burgers

·        Tamagoyaki

·        Blanched broccoli

·        Carrots

·        Grapes in cup

As for mini burgers, I refer to this recipe with Japanese sauce. I made a second box (unphotographed) for my kids too. They all love it!

By the way, can you see the theme of this bento? I give you a hint, it is a man’s apparel :b

Until next time.

Commuting story

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 1:19 PM 6 comments Links to this post

Okay...ceritanya daku sekarang move to new office.

So everyday the story is almost the same. Start dari Cibubur biasanya between 5.45 – 6.00 am. Seharusnya enakan lebih pagi, tapi mata masi sepet. Daku ga rela banget berangkat misal jam 5.00 gitu. Walau ada mbak, gue masi masak breakfast pagi hari. Bisa dibayangkan kudu bangun jam berapa? Anyway, berangkat siangan after 6.00 am (kecuali after 10.00am, tapi kan telat dong jadinya....) juga tidak direkomendasikan, kecuali kefefet. Kebayang rute nya ya? Dari Cibubur, lewat arteri, masuk tol Jagorawi, belok tol JORR, sampai nanti exit di Tangerang.

Dari sinilah cerita serunya berawal.

Dari arteri Cibubur, uda banyak spot2 macet. Kadang bisa 1 jam hanya untuk masuk tol. Itu masi termasuk okay lho.. *hikhikhik..uda deg-degan belom?* Tol Jagorawi kalo kondisi OK normal ramai lancar, harusnya less than 15min uda masuk tol JORR. Once again, tergantung banget lah gimana ramai engganya. Kadang padatnya bikin perut mules.

Nah, total jadi 2 jam 45 menit kira-kira ya.. Kalau extra macet, ya extra mulur lah tu jam nya. By the way, inget komentar temen kantor di sini.

Modus tuh modus....sengaja naruh note gitu ya.

Bulan-bulan sebelum Chinese New Year, pasti banyak hujan. Kalau di tol masih mending deh, tapi menuju tol atau begitu exit, udah kudu tau jalanan mana aja yang kebanjiran agak tinggi. Gue bukan bawa jeep atau truk – nyetir sendiri pula - jadi kalau ada banjir, dah pasti deg-degan. Kudu siapin perahu karet di mobil kali ya.. :D

Emm...gue sih don’t mind nyetir ya. Malah cenderung enjoy ngebut (inget safety) Mama gue yang uda lewat 65 th aja masi suka nyetir sendiri... Dulu pernah pake sopir pas hamil (karena dilarang dokter untuk nyetir), mungkin kebetulan dapetnya ya, tapi sopir gue yang dulu, demen ngutang. Ama gue! Aaaa...pusing deh dan jadi illfeel getuh....dah, nyetir aja sendiri...

Well, despite all the hassles, tetap kudu bersyukur lho..

Wah, gile..amazing..

Kapan-kapan gue terusin ya...

Hello 2015

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 11:46 AM 2 comments Links to this post
Hello Everyone,

It's been a while
and within a blink of eyes, we have arrived in year 2015
In fact, today is almost the last day in January. Oh, no...

I've been busy - once again - with usual work
but managed to have one bento for Christmas day.
Alright... it is better late than never, I know...

Our family and Baymax wish you a happy holiday
This bento is eaten by my hubby.

Inside the box:
* White steamed rice, topped with tofu skin
* Baymax was made from fish meatballs, his hat made from halved cherry tomato
* The Christmas tree made from some stalks of blanched broccoli, sprinkled with furikake and topped with cheese star
* Beneath the broccoli is chicken nuggets, store bought and I just deep fried them
* Cherry tomatoes
* An mandarin bowl of jelly
I also put a piece of Christmas-themed mini Reese peanut butter cup, for extra sweetness.

A news flash.
Started January 2015, I've moved to a new office.
I am still adapting myself to new working environment, new colleagues including new commuting time. LOL. Previously I only need a 45 minutes to one way drive. It takes me now about 2.5 hrs at the fastest to reach office from home and almost the same amount of hours to get back. Don't ask me how many hours that I ever spent during traffic jam. Trust me, you don't wanna know about it :D I will get use to it someway and somehow.

On the bright side, I become a super morning person.
On the tricky part, I couldn't yet get myself to make morning bento for my kids' lunches.
I will need to delegate the task to our nanny.

But, when I miss bento making, I will make one during weekend.
Just like this one

Basically, it is a duck onigiri swimming in a curry (Kare Raisu/
At that time, my kids requested curry for dinner.
I had the curry based on this recipe

What else can I say...
The menu is suitable for rainy days.
It is so yummy, I already received a note from my kids, that they would love to have it again VERY soon :D

Until next time

Are we there yet?

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 2:37 PM 2 comments Links to this post
Hello all..

Christmas is coming...!
Well, we need to first pass the Thanksgiving :)
Since we do not have a Thanksgiving day in here, I can skip that and jump to Christmas :)

Inside the box:
* white steamed rice, topped with chicken floss and green trees
* flower-y carrots
* chicken meatballs
* edamame
* apples and manggoes
* jellyballs in cups

The green trees were made from egg sheet, with the help of a drop green food colorant.

Inside the box:
* white steamed rice, topped with kani (crab stick)
* sweet tamago (rolled eggs)
* boiled broccoli
* chicken lemon
* apples

The "HO" letters were made from cut-out cheese.
I was meant to make a "ho..ho..." but realised that it would be too crowded :D

Wish you all a great weekend.

= With Love =

Halloween

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 5:55 PM 4 comments Links to this post
Hello..
How are you?

Still can't believe that today is the end of October already.. and it is a Halloween day.
We do not normally celebrate it in our home, but the kids know about this.
Perhaps from movies, books and friends (where else, hm?)
So I did some bento with a touch of Halloween festivity for them

Inside the box:
* Pumpkins made from carrot, on top of white steamed rice and chicken floss
* Steamed baby corn and baby green squash
* Chicken sauteed with teriyaki sauce
* Quail egg
* Grape and strawberry

I made three boxes of the same design.... as usual.. >,<

Day two

Inside the box:
* First tier: Hello Kitty white bread, smeared with chocolate paste by the inside
The facial decoration came from nori, kamaboko (for witch's hat) and corn.
* Second tier: two cute mummies, made from boiled cocktail sausages, wrapped with kani and decorated with nori, edamame, grapes and strawberries.

Recently I bought quite a lot of strawberries. They came in 2 boxes for one price. I usually had a "headache" in storing strawberries, but lately I just froze them. Most of times, we just take some from freezer and toss them into a blender with everything else we want to, for a strawberry juice.

My girl loved the bento.
I didn't prepare ones for the boys. It would be too girly for them. LOL

See you around
