Bento 188 Rilakkuma

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 11:56 AM 0 comments Links to this post
This morning I am so sleepy...for having slept past midnight some nights in a row and woke up by 5 am.

Today, little B is having field trip to Taman Safari It is an amusement park with animal conservations. We had been there several times and always had a good time. However, he already being excited for days. This morning, he woke up early, prepared himself and continuously talked about his favorite animals he is looking forward to see!

School will provide lunch, so I packed him a snack bento

little B's
He has some thin pizzas, apples, mini mandarin and Rilakkuma cheese.
It is my first time to do Rilakkuma.

miss L's
Avoiding the hassle in making different theme, I put another Rilakkuma in miss L's bento.
She has some thin pizzas, BBQ chicken wings, apples and mini mandarin.

mister J's
I assumed mister J prefer rice over pizza. So, he has white steamed rice, BBQ chicken wings, carrot stars and apple. I didn't put Rilakkuma in his box, imagining cheese wouldn't be a good match with rice.

theirs
But when J saw what his siblings have, he requested pizzas too!
I promised him for next time *wheww..*

I leave you with this cute Rilakkuma to keep you company

Bento 187

Hello everyone,

I am uncomfortable with recent weather. Morning could be clear hot and then mid-day could be covered with grey clouds and finally heavy rains in the afternoon. Or else it happens in the other way around *sigh*

I tried to do a cheer-up bento :D let's see if I succeeded

What's inside: mixed red-white steamed rice, chicken floss on top of rice, carrot flowers with corn and green pea.

What's in here: sauteed Chinese cabbage with straw mushroom, crispy squid in pink cup, zucchini-carrot flower with black sesame seeds and strawberry with jelly balls in yellow cup.

Twins' lunch !
in Kokeshi .. \>o</
...I am happy... {^.^}

Mission accomplished.

Bento 186

Hi there!

End of February is coming soon. Oh.... I still have lot of matters to take care about >.<!

twin girls with watermelon
I did a simple bento.

Twin girls onigiri with yellow hair from egg sheet and sausage-bows. The onigiri were stuffed with chicken floss. I like to do onigiri in this way {^.^} Faces were decorated with nori and kani. The watermelon were created from slices of zucchini and kani, also added black sesame seeds, just to make them look "real". Inside, it also had blanched broccoli and pink jelly ball, just for the color. There were some mandarin pieces in paper cup. Underneath the fruit, I put some salmon sausages (unseen in the picture) because I use them as a wedge  :b

Enjoy your lunch, everyone ... \^o^/

Bento 185 Garfield

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 12:04 PM 2 comments Links to this post
I suddenly remembered this silly cat.
I told the kids last night that they will have Garfield bento by next morning.

miss L said "It doesn't look like Garfield..?"
Inside the box: Garfield face from egg sheet, on top of onigiri, chicken bits, cherry tomato with corns, blanched broccoli, mandarins and a jelly ball.

The face was decorated with nori, cheese sheet and tiny jelly ball.

Chicken bits always saved my day. I made them from boneless chicken thighs, slitted cube sized, marinated in a few salty soy sauce, ground pepper and grated ginger. Later on, dusted with flour prior to deep fry.

Have a great day!

Valentine's day

Gue sih netral aja....
Sekarang ngomongnya...!

Dulu sih sering merayakan..waktu masih A-be-ge hahaha..itu pun dengan alasan "kan hari kita jadian..." Kapan tuh?
Coba bayangin..kita sepakat pacaran di pesta Valentine's day 15 February 1992.

Haiss...jadi ketauan deh..
Selama pacaran, tiap tahun merayakan Valentine's day...haduh, pernah sampai kehabisan ide dan tempat. Berkali-kali... Apalagi kalo sekarang masih mau diterusin ngerayainnya...aaaahhh *pingsan sesaat*

Believe it or not, dulu kita ngerayain semua tanggalan-tanggalan itu...

This is hard work..

Atau sesekali iseng nongkrong bareng di warteg jam 10 malem pas masing-masing on the way back home dari kantor.
Atau ritual cium pipi sebelum berangkat kerja.. Aih, ini termasuk romantis gak ya..

Suami emang tidak lagi ngasih kotak coklat berbentuk hati atau bunga, tapi kalo weekend pagi hari dia ngeluyur (maksudnya mungkin jalan pagi ya..) pulangnya bilang "eh, gue beli sarapan sekalian buat elo nih.." *asiiikk..gak usah masak...(sambil joged-joged)*

Kasih sayang harusnya kan sepanjang tahun.
Isn't it good to have Valentine's years? Ih..maksa.....

So, kemarin gue masih merasa 14 February seperti hari kerja biasanya.

Gue cuma cengar cengir ala Shrek's donkey
Gak nyangka.

Hm...makes a mama proud, right?

Anyway, happy celebrating love in your life  [^o^}

Bento 183 Animals' meeting

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 2:31 PM 6 comments Links to this post
Hi everyone... how was your weekend?

I had a wonderful weekend to spend with some close friends. One of them requested that I bring a bento thus here is something I made for us to share.

Some cute animals are doing the gathering :)

Inside the box: onigiri of angry birds (red, yellow and black also 2 green pigs), yellow bee, brown puppy, white rabbit and yellow chick. In the middle were a snail (from sausage and narutomaki), 2 heart sausages (for Valentine's day mood) and some edamame also cherry tomatoes underneath the snail. Surround the snail, were the blanched broccoli. On below of animals were boiled chikuwa stuffed with boiled carrots and green beans. By sides were pink kamaboko. On top of animals were fried chicken. I also put two mouse in each top corner of box, made from strawberry, almond slices, chocolate cereal and jelly ball. Oh yes, one tiny flower carrot was inserted at the very right top corner just to have a steady position of this box.

For a closer look
The rabbit and green pig

As usual, the green onigiri made from crushed edamame mixed with rice. Add cheese for his eyes and nose with nori and black sesame seeds, carrot sliced also ears edamame.
The rabbit was made with cheese sheet for eyes and his teeth, jelly ball for nose, fried angel-hair pasta for whiskers and kani for ears.
I am glad that they got along just fine with each other .....

A puppy, red angry bird and a bee also a mice

A puppy was made with sweet soy sauce mixed with rice. Added a piece of sliced squid-ball and nori also kani for her mouth. Another jelly ball was placed in for her nose. The eyes were made from cheese and nori. The ears were made from kani and nori too. She looked sweet with her yellow bow.
The red bird was done by mixing rice with ketchup. Decorated with carrots for his beak and head feathers, cheese and black sesame seeds for eyes and another nori for his angry eyebrows. I hope he looks quite furious now.
The yellow bee was done by mixing rice with cooked yellow egg. The strips were from nori and also her eyeballs. Cheese was used for her eyes and wings. I almost broke her wings so I inserted a foodpick underneath to keep the shape. You will notice the presence of a foodpick if you long enough staring at her  :b I also inserted fried angel-hair pasta for her antenna. Notice that a mice was hiding behind the red bird.

The king pig and yellow angry bird

Oh no...They are enemies....
The green pig was done almost the same as earlier green pig mentioned. He only added for yellow crown foodpick.
The yellow bird was also done in the same way as I did the yellow bee. The facial decoration was following the red bird.
They looked unhappy sitting side by side and I was responsible to their kind of feelings...

The black angry bird and yellow chick

The black bird is mister J's favorite. Simply done by wrapping round onigiri with nori sheet and decorated as the way I have done with the other birds.
The little chick was made similarly with making yellow bird or bee. Decorated with nori for eyes and feet, a piece of corn for her beak and some dabs of ketchup for her rosy cheeks. I took an easy way to put heart shaped foodpick for her head feather. She was sitting on top of white egg. I just tried to use it before one of my kids gulped the remaining white egg down.

Whew...
so happy that my friends love it.
This is definitely not my daily type of bento making ... *laughing* although I must admit it was fun to do.

Wish you a great day

Happy Chinese New Year

Hai......
mau cerita tentang sincia ...

Before D-day
Keluarga mama sama papa masih totok. Suka ditanya sama mama ~ in case gak pakai ~ koq gak pake baju merah...?

Begitu agak rakus dikit, rasanya bakal sesek nih... Pakai size XL, kaya daster, bo... Akhirnya ambil yang S. It seemed that the universe answered my concern.

my first 12cm high heels
Having baking-marathon ... cheesecake..!
Cari jalan keluar yang enak...bikin kue yang gampang aje...

buat mama
buat mertua
buat om (adik mama) : tempat kita ngumpul dinner malam sincia
Untung ada gerombolan imoet yang siap membantu .......

crushing oreo with serious faces
Luna lagi pegang spatula ~ bukan pisau ~ dia 'bertugas' pisahin oreo dari krim nya sementara Jov dan Bas 'menghancurkan' oreo. Setelah selesai urusan krim itu, dia ikut menggerus oreo.

D-day
Happy New Year....

One by one gong xi for angpao

 Our family wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous Lunar New Year..... {^,^}

This is another bento for lazy busy morning ....

I know somebody who is crazy for coke
I made Coca Cola chicken wings.... Just click here for original recipe

Inside the box: chicken wings, onigiri half-wrapped with nori, carrots, zucchini, edamame, red bell pepper and strawberries.

It's gonna be a long weekend ... with Chinese New Year celebration will fall on next Monday 23 January. We do not have any getaway plan. We usually pay some visit to house of both parents and other elder relatives. Under tradition reason, we suppose to wear something new and something red. We will give some money in red envelopes to our kids and younger relatives too. I can imagine my parents and in-laws will have so many symbolic and delicious foods.

Oh..it makes me hungry now {^3^}

Have a great weekend....
