A giant rat bento for daddy
Inside the box: giant rat on top of black rice, sauteed chicken pieces with sausages, boiled chikuwa with edamame, star carrot, kani, strawberries and lemon wedges.
The rat was made from hard-boiled egg, soaked in sweet soy sauce and decorated with punched-out nori.
Hope the above portion is enough for him :)

I wonder, did he ever tell you his colleague's comments of his bento box??
I will gobble the giant rat up. Or not, because he's cute (^.^). Is still hard for me to ask the kids to eat red / black rice. Eventhough I mixed it with regular rice, they still refused to have it for their bento, oh boy!!
@ nomad girl, nope. He manages own business now. The one whom see his box most probably (if there is) is his employees. Which I am certain the person wouldn't make any comment about it LOL
@ Lia Chen, hm...this is my first time too, to use black rice for bento. Hope later on your kids can accept red/black rice coz it's healthier than white (I am sure you know this already of course)
The giant rat looks adorable! You remind me I haven't made any characters with (quail)eggs for a while :).
@ Cooking Gallery, thanks a lot, Sin... hmmm.......I am still thinking about the theme of bento to be submitted to your blog contest :D
