Bento #90

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 5:32 PM
I am still having jet lag from last trip, thus for two days in a row, I woke up at unusual time around 3.00 am. It shouldn't be a problem if I can felt asleep again quickly, but apparently I was not. Thus, I headed to kitchen by 4.00 am, made bento stash and headed to bed again by 5.00 am, before fully awaken by 6.30 am. Ha ha ha..I slowly will get over this eventually *yawning now at 3 pm*

The yellow bees were obtained by submersing boiled quail eggs into food coloring solution, before decorated them with nori stripes and kamaboko wings. On below part was some black sesame seeds scatterred as soil.
The bees were 'chasing' narutomaki flowers with stringbean stem. The above part, I have included steamed green squash (underneath), boiled salmon-sausages and created happy faces from nori punched-outs.
For final touch, the kids had sliced papayas.

I posted this in What's For Lunch Week 24 Come on, let's join the fun!

Since I woke up so early, I was able to make an extra bento for an office-mate.
I made inarizushi and placed 2 salmon-sausages rolls on top then created happy faces too.
Other things included were boiled egg, broccoli and slices of narutomaki (unseen). It completed with a cute small bottle of sauce with an elephant-cap.  I hold myself in further decorating since it was for an adult. However, my office-mate still had a laugh during opening the box and said "Wish that I don't have to eat this but I am really hungry"
