On yesterday, I bought local delicacy, Ngohiang. It is a typical dish of Bogor city.
In overall, it is like a nugget. Composed with ground chicken and shrimp, added with spices then wrapped with tofu skin in cylinder shape, before steamed it to cook. Later after cool off, dipped into whisked egg and deep-fried it.
Usually, we eat ngohiang with some thick sauce, similar with gravy, although the color is light brown. The food has fragrant smell due to some traditional spices in it.
I bought it un-fried and done it this morning.
I arranged it with some yellow and white rice, added with punch-out steamed carrots, broccoli and papaya pieces. I keep the sauce in blue cup. Decorated with punch-out nori for eyes and mouth, also fried noddle for horns, aha...., here comes the caterpillar..

Good idea to form the caterpillar from Ngo Hiong! Surprise for the kids :)
Your version of ngo-hiang is different from here! Here is usually pork strips mixed with turnip (sengkuang), spring onions or leeks, carrot and some spices.
My MIL used to make them for Chinese New Year but it takes a lot of time so she don't do so much as before.
Cutie caterpillar... where are you heading to? hehheehee
