Bento # 69 Hare in the moon

Posted by Journal Mommy Yenny at 11:54 AM
Hare in the moon Bento
The bento is made in celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival within Asian countries.
I wrapped the furikake-white steamed rice with nori sheets, as to resemble Mooncake
Then placed a cut-out cheddar cheese to make a full moon. Later add the punch-out hare from kamaboko and put the sesame seeds for eyes and the pink-part of kamaboko for its lips.

Surround the 'mooncake', I put steamed green squashes, grape tomatoes, and star-zucchini. For fruits, they had sliced dragonfruits.

Happy Mooncake Festival..!

love the lil' bunny. I think kamaboko looks really great in bentos. The color is beautifully white/pink. Never eaten it before and don't think it would get eaten around here, only reason i don't buy it myself!

Nice bento for Mooncake Festival! Did you do something special yesterday with the kids to celebrate?

@ Sherimiya, thank you for nice comment, Sheri

@ Kelly, thanks a lot
this is also my first time to use kamaboko in bento. It was quite fun, I must say :-) hope you'll find the perfect substitute for kamaboko

@ Lia Chen, thanks Lia and happy mooncake festival for you too. I didn't have any special occasion with the kids except eating the cake! LOL
